Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Ahead of its time during the era of its creation, The Third Man still seems innovative and inventive. After almost 70 years, it barely shows its age and remains fresh and wickedly delightful. Starring Orson Welles, Joseph Cotten. Criterion, $39.95, 12/16/2008.

2. Citizen Kane: Criterion Collection [Blu-Ray] (1941)

3. Shadow Of A Doubt [4K UHD] (1943)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Apparently Alfred Hitchcock found Shadow of a Doubt to be his favorite of all the flicks he directed. I do not think quite so highly of it, but I like it nonetheless. 4. The Third Man: Criterion Collection (1949)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: When old folks say -they don’t make ‘em like they used to-, they could refer to The Third Man. However, I’m not sure they ever made ‘em like this. Ahead of its time at the time of its creation, the movie still seems very innovative and inventive; it barely shows its age and remains fresh and wickedly delightful. Starring Orson Welles. 6. The Third Man: Criterion Collection (2-Disc Edition) (1949)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Without question, The Third Man belongs in your collection – if it’s not already there. For those who fail to possess a DVD of the flick, run out and grab this release right now. If you have the old Criterion edition, I can still recommend 2007 two-disc version if you enjoy supplements. 8. Gaslight [Blu-Ray] (1944)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A film whose title entered the vernacular, Gaslight occasionally suffers from telegraphed plot points. However, it manages to become a reasonably taut thriller despite those issues. Starring Charles Boyer, Ingrid Bergman. Warner, $21.99, 6/25/2019.

9. Airport '77 (1977)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A tedious and dull disaster movie, Airport ‘77 didn’t live up to its potential. With an excellent cast and a theoretically interesting scenario, the film could have been the best of the series. Unfortunately, it bores us to death with its endless focus on logistics. Starring Jack Lemmon, Lee Grant. Universal, $19.98, 2/10/2004.
